Breed Information

Our team consists of Matt (handler), Jake (jumper) and Gunther (future jumper). Matt was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania.  Jake and Gunther were both born in or around Bloomington, Indiana.  We currently live south of Bloomington. Matt and Jake have been participating in the sport of dock jumping since August 2006. Gunther has entered a couple competitions but he has yet to make an actual jump from the dock.

Jake is a Doberman/Vizsla mix who was adopted from the Monroe County Humane Society- Bloomington, Indiana in September 2005.  According to his records, he was born February 29th, 2004. Jake first started swimming in July 2006 after he and Matt attended their first dock jumping event at Buffalo Crossing in Shelbyville, Kentucky that June.  In August Jake made his first ever jump off of a dock and then within the hour made his first ever competitive jump.  Gunther is a German Shorthaired Pointer that was adopted from the Monroe County Humane Society - Bloomington,Indiana in June 2007.  His paperwork shows him as being born in April 2006 but he more than likely was born somewhere between September and November 2006.  He loves the water and likes to do shore retrieving.  He also loves the exit ramp in the pools.  He has not yet made any competition jumps but he has been on the dock to compete. He loves to point in the back yard so maybe someday he will get to go out in the field and point some upland birds.
